What is a Naturopath?

Naturopathy is a form of holistic complementary medicine, which aims to not only treat someone's symptoms but to look deeper and try to discover why this is happening to them.

Principles

The principles of Naturopathy which are the building blocks for every consultation. These include:

-       The healing power of nature: As a Naturopath, I aim to support the bodies own ability to heal itself.

-       First do no harm: The wellbeing of the patient always comes first.

-       Find and treat the cause whenever possible: A comprehensive assessment gives me direction to help treat the underlying potential cause of a symptom, rather than just treating the symptom.

-       Treat the whole person: Treatment should incorporate how the body works as a whole, including physically, mentally, environmentally and emotionally.

-       Education: Providing education and giving power for patients to maintain their own health long term.

-       Prevention: Focusing on prevention of disease though overall health and wellness.

I spend 1 hour asking a range of questions in regards to your major health concern/s, any related systems, diet and lifestyle, as well as using some assessment techniques. This enables me to get a holistic understanding of yourself and how best I may be able to assist you.
