About Bridgit Rouget - Naturopath

the beginning

From a very early age, I have had a love for nature. I grew up being lucky enough to travel around Australia with my family, getting to drive around some amazing places. The outback was my teacher. Then as it tends to happen, I grew up, I pushed away this side of me. It wasn't until my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and due to the stress of it all, I got glandular fever, that I started to think more about my own body and those who I loved around me, and what could I do to help.

My own health journey

I am lucky enough that my mother's breast cancer wasn't caused by genetics, however my hormonal picture was starting to mirror hers. Heavy bleeding, long menstrual cycles, acne, getting emotional and irritable. After further investigation I had been told I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). I was lucky enough to be studying my degree at the time so I could understand more about what was going on. During my naturopathy degree I was not only learning more for others, I was learning more about myself. Turns out I also have IBS, which is very much related to my anxiety, both I have had my whole life. I finally realised that this wasn't normal and there is something I can do about it.

Becoming a Naturopath

In 2017 after 5 years of studying my Bachelor Degree of Health Science at Southern School of Natural Therapies, I was now able to fulfil my dream of helping those with their own health journeys. My passion is helping people understand more about their own body and the clues it gives us if we just take the time to listen.

As a naturopath I can help assist with a whole range of conditions that come as a result of something preventing the body to heal itself. My life journey so far has resulted in a few areas that I have a particular interest in:
- Female hormonal and reproductive disorders: PCOS, endometriosis, dysmenorrhoea, amenorrhoea, PMS
- Digestive complaints: IBS/IBD, constipation, bloating
- Skin health
- Seasonal allergies (hay fever)

further study

I love learning and gathering new techniques and understanding. Since finishing my degree I’ve also done a range of courses and certificates in Reiki, Astrology, Iridology, Women’s Health .

The future

Regardless of what the future holds, I want to continue to help those with their health and to never stop learning about how I can achieve this.
